Event Venue

WSOM+ 2022 takes place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering which is located downtown at the Czech Technical University campus at Charles Square (Prague 2). Do not confuse it with the main university campus in Dejvice (Prague 6). The conference hall is called “Šrámkova posluchárna” (Šrámek’s auditorium) and there will be navigation signs to get you there from the entrance. It is a room No. KN:E-301.

Right next to the university building, there are tram, metro (Line B) and bus stations called “Karlovo náměstí”.

The CTU campus at Karlovo namesti 13 (Charles Square - a large rectangular park with the main road and tram lines in the middle going from west to east -- from down the river). It can be accessed by metro (line B), station Karlovo namesti with two exits. Take the exit closer to the city center, labeled Karlovo namesti. (The second exit leads to Palackeho namesti; when you appear less than 100 meters from the Vltava river, you are on Palackeho namesti).
The entrance to the campus is in a yellowish Renaissance Revival building from 1860 on the corner of Karlovo namesti and Resslova street. You will appear in the underpass after leaving the metro area. One of the underpass exits leads to the corner of the CTU building. The direction is roughly diagonally left from the metro exit. If a bakery shop is on your right-hand side in the underpass, then it is the correct exit. Climb the stairs, and you will see the entrance to the CTU campus directly in front of you. You then need to pass the main gate and continue through a glass hallway (called cube) to the courtyard. On your right hand, you will see building E, where the WSOM+22 is taking place. It might happen that the glass hallway would be locked. In that case, you need to take the left stairs, just behind the turnpikes, follow the corridor, go downstairs, and then turn right to the courtyard, and the building E will be in front of you, see the map.

Transportation

Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. It is an integrated public transportation, meaning that one ticket can be used for the bus, metro, tram, a number of ferries and the Petřín cable car as long as you travel within the time limit of your ticket.

The best way to get from the airport using public transport is by bus no. 119 that goes to the Veleslavín metro station (Line A) or bus no. 100 that goes to the Zličín metro station (Line B).

Ticket fare

You can buy a one-time ticket in the ticket machine (in every metro station and some of the highly frequented tram or bus stations), in newspaper shops or inside some newer trams using contactless credit or debit cards. You can also buy a ticket via text message; the price of the 90 min. ticket is 42 CZK (approx. 1.7 EUR) and the text message format is “DPT42” sent to (00420)90206. Take a look at the fare price list for detailed information. Do not forget to validate your paper ticket by stamping it in the yellow ticket validator!

Taxis

You can also use taxis to get anywhere you want. Please, use some of the apps because some of the taxi drivers that you stop on the street have been known to rob tourists with insane fares (especially when going from the airports). Using Uber, Bolt or Liftago apps, which are very popular in Prague, is a safe bet!

Accommodation

The organizers do not provide accommodation for the conference participants. The venue is located in Downton Prague which means plenty of accommodation possibilities. A very nice hotel in the close proximity to the venue is the Mosaic House Design Hotel, right down the street is Hotel Caesar Prague or a cheaper family Hotel Czechia.
